In recent years, thanks to a comprehensive vision and superior care, the evolution of diagnostic and therapeutic techniques, together with a high degree of professional specialization, have managed to reduce mortality from breast cancer significantly. This was the objective for which, since 2017, we began to work as a Mastology Unit, which strengthened and optimized the contribution of each of our professionals and medical centres linked to this specialty. It consists of more than 10 disciplines brought together with an interdisciplinary approach: mastology, breast imaging, pathological anatomy, clinical oncology, breast surgery, breast oncoplastic, genetic counselling, oncological physiotherapy and rehabilitation, psycho-oncology, oncological nursing, nutrition, fertility, radiotherapy, nuclear medicine and gynecology. This unit has professionals of special dedication in all aspects of breast pathology. From promoting breast health; study of benign diseases; prevention and early diagnosis of breast cancer; and the control of the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up processes to guarantee excellent service.
