Our Breast Unit is comprised of the Kantonsspital Aarau and the Kantosspital Olten, regional and nationwide centres of health care. A team of experts in all specialties is dedicated to offer the whole spectrum available today for treatment of malignant and benign breast diseases and to provide patient-centered care and cure according to the best scientific standard. We offer diagnostic, pre-and postoperative clinics and special clinics. Our Breast Unit is certified according to EUSOMA guidelines and is one of the largest institutions of its kind in Switzerland. We participate in most national and international breast cancer studies and are a teaching hospital. The patients receive an individual treatment plan. All cases are discussed both pre- and post-operatively in multi-disciplinary case management meetings- an interdisciplinary forum including radiologists, breast surgeons, reconstructive surgeons, oncologists, radio-oncologists and pathologists. Supportive services such as breast care nurses, physiotherapy, psychological support, genetic counseling and care of advanced malignancy are available. Our main objective is to improve quality of breast care, regionally and nationwide.
