Gülhane Hospital is one of our country's biggest Training and Research Hospitals (1500 beds), built in 1898. It serves as a part of Gülhane Medical School in the University of Health Sciences. It is located in Ankara, the capital city of Turkey. The Breast Clinic and its related Surgical Oncoloy Department have 2 outpatient polyclinic services and 12000 patients are examined per year; almost half of which are related to breast diseases. Approximately 300 breast cancer surgeries and 100 other breast surgeries per year are performed. Gülhane Training and Research Hospital is the preferred center for conservative oncoplastic surgery in our country. On the other hand, oncoplastic techniques are applied to appropriate patients by experienced surgeons in this field. Among the important developments in the field of surgical oncology including oncoplastic breast surgery at recent years, are routine practice in our clinic. Seminars, courses and multidisciplinary including but not limited to general surgeons national /international certificate programs related to oncoplastic breast surgery are organized each year.
