Okan University was established in 1999, and the School of Medicine is based in the same building in Tuzla. The Breast Center of the School works in collaboration with general surgery, radiology and pathology at the time of scanning and diagnosis. Weekly multidisciplinary meetings are held with participants from breast surgery, radiology, pathology, nuclear medicine, medical oncology, radiation oncology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, gynaecology, plastic/reconstructive surgery and psychiatry departments comprehensive breast care. Patients are evaluated during preoperative or postoperative periods in these meetings. The members of the centre join breast health courses and congresses regularly. Also, breast health meetings are organised for education both of the public and the health specialists by the centre. The centre's objective is to provide modern care for breast health and continuing education for breast specialists.
